Mini Poodle Mix Snuggling With Her Cat Sibling In The Sun Will Warm Your Heart
Whoever said humans are the only species that hug to show affection hasn't met Lottie, a young, adorable cavapoochon. This pup joined a family with two cats named Willow and Bertie in September 2025. Naturally, she gravitated toward them and tried to befriend them. They hesitated to accept her at first, but now, they all seem to get along. Lottie seems to be especially fond of Bertie, a gray, British short-haired cat. The duo's owner caught her "hugging" and grooming him while they were enjoying some sunshine outdoors, making them one of the cutest pet friendships of all time.

The clip was shared on TikTok in October 2025 and has received more than 300,000 likes. Bertie appears to have been in his spot first, a ledge near the lawn. Lottie is seen with half her body on top of him, with one of her front legs over his back, as if intentionally embracing him. She then licks his ear a couple of times. Despite the invasion of his personal space, Bertie doesn't seem to mind the affection, but he eventually gets up to leave after Lottie moves away from him.
Viewers melted at the scene between the feline-canine BFFs. "This is what the world should be about," one person said. "Looks like best friends to me," another commented. Several others shared photos of their own dog and cat snuggling.
Tips for introducing a new puppy to a cat
If you'll soon be adding your own Lottie to your home to meet your cat (or cats), keep a few tips in mind. The introduction between a dog and cat in the same home will be more likely to be successful if the transition happens slowly. Begin by ensuring your cat has plenty of horizontal and vertical space to move around and observe the furry new addition from a safe distance. Plan to bring the puppy inside on a leash, even if held in your arms.
When it's time for the official intro, expect your pup to respond with enthusiasm, curiosity, or both at the sight of the cat. Keep a tight grip on the leash or hold the dog securely in your hands. Have some dog treats and cat treats on hand so you can reward any positive behaviors you see. Don't force any interactions between the animals, and don't allow them to interact without supervision — at least for the first few days. Watch for signs of stress or fear, such as hissing, growling, or hiding, and be prepared to intervene or redirect, if necessary.
Let the pets sniff each other as they get to know each other. You should also make sure they always have their own personal space and belongings: bed, toys, bowls, etc. With patience and consistency, most puppies and cats learn to coexist comfortably, and many even become close friends, like Lottie and Bertie: you just might have your own videos to share one day of your dog and cat cuddling.
