Woman 'Stumbling Upon A Pack' Of Corgi Puppies Is Like A Dream Come True

It's not every day you come across a stray puppy, but stumbling upon an entire litter is even rarer. A woman named Janell experienced the latter — an encounter many dog lovers can only dream of — during her drive home one late-summer day. After seeing the small animals in the distance, she parked her car and began filming as six corgis happily ran down the street toward her. It wasn't the typical behavior of stray dogs, which served as a clue to their age and the amount of time they'd been away from home. She shared the encounter on TikTok in September 2025.

I didn't know I would end my day like this 🥹🙏🏽🥲 Driving home, stumbling upon a pack of pups, I walked them back to their home and adopted Maple afterward 🖤 #puppydistributionsystem #puppy #corgi #welshcorgi #corgipuppy

"Puppies! Hi, come here," Janell says in the video. The pups greet her by jumping on her shins, causing her to repeatedly exclaim, "Oh my God!" Realizing the potential for danger, she leads them off the road and onto the grass, and they follow. The last eight seconds of the clip show photos of only one Corgi. Turns out, the puppies lived nearby, so she was able to return them home, and as a token of gratitude, the owners let her adopt one. She named her Maple.

The video racked up more than 3 million likes and 20,000 comments. "This looks like an actual dream," one viewer said. "You hit the lottery," another added. "I'm so tired of this never happening to me," one person joked.

Meet Maple the Corgi

Based on Janell's Instagram photos, Maple joined her family as the only canine member, but she wasn't the only animal in the home. She became a sibling to a tortie cat named Hazel and a pair of guinea pigs named Pumpkin and Mac. From the first day in her new family, Maple adjusted well. She now comfortably takes naps (lots of them) on the sofa, cuddles and walks with her new mom, and plays with toys.

Her most recent Instagram adventures include visiting her first pumpkin farm a couple of weeks before Halloween and stealing her mom's handmade coasters to hide them under her bed. She also loves chewing on socks, sunbathing in the backyard, and collecting twigs. This precious pup may not even remember the day she and her siblings were saved from the streets, but it's a tale Janell will never forget.

If you discover an abandoned litter of puppies, the first thing you should do is keep the pups out of harm's way, as Janell did with the corgis. Contact a local shelter or veterinarian for assistance, attempt to locate the owner, and try not to get attached — unless of course, you get the opportunity to adopt one like Maple's mom did. Interested in more stories like these?
