Goldendoodle Won't Leave Mom Alone Before Her Wedding And It's Too Sweet

Some dogs form strong attachments to their owners to the point that they earn the "velcro dog" title. They follow them around the house, stay close to the front door when they leave, and insist on sitting beside them on the sofa. Or, in one bride's case, they must occupy whatever empty floor space they can near their humans, even if it means lying on top of something. TikToker user @koshe20 shared a video of a velcro goldendoodle that simply could not leave his mother's side on her wedding day.

In the clip, a pair of bridesmaids assist in buttoning the back of a bride's dress. The bride's goldendoodle, named Percy, lies on her fluffy train on the floor beside her. Of course, as far as he's concerned, it's just a comfy bed that someone has so kindly set down specifically for him. He's probably thinking, "How convenient. A floor blanky attached to Mommy so we'll never be apart."

As if that weren't adorable enough, turns out, Percy is actually part of a trio of curly-haired dogs that belong to the bride. Another TikTok video shows another smaller, lighter-colored one named Koba and a much larger white one that also appears to be a type of doodle dog named Kapone in the family. Judging by their green bowtie collars, it seems all three were included at the wedding somehow — perhaps just for photos — and with their cuteness overload, we can totally see why.

Ways to include a dog in a wedding

As Percy, Koba, and Kapone proved, including your pets on your wedding day can be a great idea, and there are many ways to do it. Are you a dog parent or a wedding planner preparing for a wedding? Perhaps you know a dog parent with an upcoming ceremony, or you're just curious about the options. From indoor to outdoor ideas for the ceremony, reception, or both, you might be surprised at the possibilities.

Owners who want their canine companion physically present, but in a limited capacity, can include them in the getting-ready, first-looks, or post-ceremony photos like Percy's mom did. Shots of brides or grooms alongside their canine companions are practically guaranteed to be memorable and frame-worthy, whether they're candid or staged.

For owners who want their pups more involved, there's the option of making them part of the wedding party, such as a ring bearer, "best boy," or "dog of honor." They can also be limited to a certain section at the ceremony or reception to greet the guests. If you're lucky enough to have a well-behaved BFF velcro dog like Percy, is there really a good reason not to include it on your big day? That is, assuming dogs are allowed.
