Dachshund Throws The Cutest Fit When He Has To Leave His Best Friend's House

Did you ever throw a fit when you were a kid over having to leave your best friend's house while you were still having fun? Maybe there were dramatic tears or desperate pleas for "just five more minutes," or perhaps you literally threw yourself down on the ground and refused to go, just like this adorable little dachshund does in this totally cute, relatable TikTok video featuring a long-haired wiener dog who's not quite ready to depart his family friend's house.

To theatrically get his point across about not wanting to go, the little guy has flopped on his back, throwing a toddler-like fit in the middle of the driveway, complete with paws and tail twitching. "You better give him anything and everything he wants," advises one commenter about the pup making a scene. Another refers to it as the "master weenie flop," while someone else pointedly says, "just a dachshund dachshunding." In the end, though, his endearing efforts appear futile, as he eventually rolls over so that his giggling owner can pick him up.

Dachshunds are known for being stubborn

Despite the amusing "wiener dog" moniker because they resemble a hot dog with their short legs and long bodies, dachshunds are notoriously stubborn pets, often thought of as having a big dog mentality in spite of their small stature.

Originally bred for hunting, the low-slung dogs are often highly intelligent and fiercely independent, which can sometimes spill over into a refusal to be told what to do. Ever seen a leashed dachshund stop mid-walk in a mini tug-o-war with its owner over which way to go? It's that type of behavior that can make the breed seem a little bit stubborn (but no less cute).

Outside of being labeled headstrong, dachshunds have a lot to offer as pets, including loyalty, a penchant for silliness, and a long lifespan that often sees them living into their teens. These devoted, fun-loving dogs with big personalities bring plenty of love and laughs to their owners and families, making their sometimes stubbornness that much easier to swallow.
