Pomeranian's 'Morning Ballet' Routine Is Giving Total Dancer Energy

As if Pomeranians couldn't get any cuter, meet Keanu, a tiny aspiring dancer who does adorable "morning ballet" stretches every time he takes a walk. In this TikTok video, the little fluffball does the cutest leg lifts that make him look like he's warming up to go onstage. In fact, he practices this pose enough that his owner counts them as he walks! It's really something to see.

Set to a classical minuet played by a string quartet, Keanu is seen doing several single and double stretches as he leisurely takes his morning walk, extending his perfectly pointed toothpick-like legs way out behind his puffball body. Meanwhile, his human companion overlays a digital counter to keep track of how many times he poetically extends his paws behind him, tallying up 5.75 times during the 15-second clip.

"He's such a princess! Love that for him," says one commenter, while others gleefully squee things like "The tippy toes are killing meeeee😭" and "STOOOP! The little chicken wing stretches! I can't 😂." Meanwhile, several interject with suggestions that the owner should take him to the vet, with one saying, "Might be dislocating knee caps. Called luxating patella." The owner simply replies "we have" to one of the concerned comments. Hopefully it's just this little doggy making sure he's nice and limber for his big-stage debut!

Despite what may seem obvious, Pomeranian dogs did not get their breed name from looking like a pompom — even though they sometimes indeed look exactly like one. The name is actually derived from the Pomeranian region of Europe, from which they descended from sled dogs, leading to that signature poof.

The fluff is strong with these pint-size pups who usually weigh under 10 pounds, as they are born with a double coat, which means they have two layers of fur: a short undercoat of dense hair, and a longer, poofier topcoat that gives them their adorable looks.

While making them very cute, that excessive fur also makes them high maintenance, as it needs a lot of attention and grooming to keep it from getting dirty and matted.
