Tiny Dapple Dachshund Puppy 'Finding Her Bark' Roars And Channels Inner Lion King
The term "finding your voice" is when a person finally feels free to stand up and speak out with authority — but that term can also be applied to this TikTok pup named Tipsy, who has seemingly just discovered her bark. After an initial squeak, the tiny dapple dachshund gives a few assertive howls and growls that obviously make her feel empowered. Watch out, world!

The cutesy video is superimposed with the observation "POV: Finding your bark" and followed by the caption, "It's giving Simba trying to roar for the first time," in reference to the film "The Lion King," much like these other dogs and cats are doing. Indeed, little Tipsy seems to be enjoying her newfound bark while riding in the car, throwing in a few nibbles to the side of the passenger seat for good measure.
Run to the comments section, and you'll see statements like, "I love that first bark, finding that voice 💜 adorbs!!!" and "Already with an opinion I see 😂🤪" to "Once it starts it never ends 🙄." For now, though, let's just enjoy this endearing little moment of self-discovery.
Why are dachshunds so vocal?
Dachshunds are small but mighty dogs, especially when it comes to barking. They're known for being very vocal, which has to do with originally being bred as hunting companions who would loudly alert their owners to where another animal might be hiding. Now, as domesticated pets, they feel the need to tell their owners of anything that might be of interest, like passing cars, unusual noises, and people or other animals walking by. Sometimes, their barking has to do with boredom or anxiety, but, really, they're just doing their instinctive duty!
Barking comes with the territory of owning dogs, but there are often things you can do to help reduce it, with socialization and training being the top priority from a young age or as soon as you adopt a pup. Other techniques for cutting down on barking include making sure your furry friend gets enough exercise (a la walks) and has some toys for mental stimulation and self-soothing. If their barking is excessive or uncontrollable, you should seek out help from a veterinarian, a qualified dog trainer, or a behaviorist. Otherwise, you just have to learn to embrace the bark! And, in case you were wondering, here's the decibel level of a barking dog.
