That's exactly what this adorable mini dachshund named Meli did when she saw her own reflection for the very first time, energetically hopping and pawing at the glass, even letting out a little yip of excitement. "First time seeing herself in a mirror," the clip declares, adding that "the little bark" is what really tugs at the heartstrings of the original poster — and certainly anyone watching. "She's happy cause now she knows how cute she is," says one viewer, with another joking, "[S]he prob saying stop mimicking me 😭." Meanwhile, plenty of others were simply saying "cute!" and "awww." Miniature dachshunds are literally just an even smaller version of a standard dachshund, which are pretty small to begin with! While standard dachshunds can weigh anywhere from 16 to 32 pounds, minis usually clock in under 11. Both have long, low-slung bodies and stubby legs that lead them to sometimes being called "wiener dogs." Each makes a great pet!
Both breeds share the same smart but stubborn personality, with other common personality traits including having high energy, a tendency to bark, and strong loyalty.
