Aussie Puppy Does A 'Magic Trick' With Balloon And His Shocked Face Is Adorable

When a balloon pops, it can be both startling and a little sad, leaving you with nothing but a small shred of colored latex and fond memories. However, we found a beautiful Australian shepherd dog who flips that script and makes watching a balloon pop totally adorable, as the perplexed pooch doesn't have a clue as to what just happened. It must be doggy magic!

At the end of a party, this sweet Aussie gets its paws on a turquoise balloon, immediately sinking its teeth into the rubbery ball until...poof! It disappears — aka it popped. But the perplexed pooch clearly has no idea where it went, hilariously reacting by looking around as if it had rolled away. Meanwhile, the content creator notes that "He will be wondering for the rest of his life" where that darn balloon went!

While many people in the comments found the video hilarious and made amusing comments about the dog's dumbfounded reaction, equally as many felt the need to point out that balloons can be dangerous for pets if ingested. And one person dropped the totally relatable one-liner, "This is an analogy of my paycheck the day after it clears." Uh, which way did it go?

Choosing safe toys for your dog

What can a pup play with instead of a balloon? These days, there are so many dog toys on shelves at pet stores, it's hard to pick out what your doggy might like best. First and foremost, safety is top priority, so always ensure a toy seems like a good fit for your furry friend and check to make sure it doesn't break, accidentally come apart, or degrade over time. Always supervise your pet during playtime around toys.

Beyond that, the best dog toys usually allot for an equal mix of mental stimulation and physical activity, like puzzle-solving dog feeders that release treats, tug toys that allow interactive bonding between pet and parent, and highly durable chew toys that can also be used to play fetch. There are even bottles of bubbles that make dogs go bonkers with scents and flavors like peanut butter and bacon!

For simple items and ideas from around the house, you could always play tug-o-war with your pup using a long tube sock or fill a dry, empty single-serve water bottle with dog treats and let your pupster figure out how to get to the snacks inside. Of course, make sure to remove and discard the plastic cap, bottle ring, and any plastic wrap that could be hazardous, and keep an eye on your dog as they play. In general, doggies seem to have fun no matter what kind of toy they are given!
