Maltipoo's Nighttime Routine Includes Turning Mom's Head Into Her Personal Pillow

Everyone's pet has a favorite nighttime sleeping spot, whether it's a pup who loves dozing in its doggy bed or a cat who sleeps at your feet in the big bed. But what if your pet's favorite place to sleep was on your head? A cute little maltipoo pup on TikTok is drawing attention for doing just that by turning her influencer mom's head into her own personal pillow, and we can't look away!

The short clip shows the content creator getting into bed and lying down, and as soon as she's settled, her maltipoo runs over in a flash and curls up right against her head, smushing their faces together. With the moment described as "my dog the second my head hits my pillow," the caption notes that "yes she does this every night."

The clip caused a cascade of commenters posting pics of their own pets sleeping on their heads, mostly small breed dogs, with a few big dogs and cats mixed in for good measure. Comments ranged from "[She's] rushing in like someone else's gonna steal her spot" to "What a privilege to be loved." Either way, it's nothing short of adorable!

Why do dogs like to sleep with you?

Many dogs love sleeping with their owners, especially in bed. Some people allow it, others don't. But why exactly do dogs crave sleeping with you at night? The answer is pretty straightforward in that they're seeking warmth, security, and bonding, and it's a clear sign that your dog loves you and trusts you.

It's a behavior that stems from their innate instinct as pack animals that descended from wolves. The move often gives them a sense of comfort, since it can reduce their anxiety and satisfy an inherent need to feel safe while sleeping, when they might have been vulnerable to attacks in the wild. Plus, a bed is much cozier than the floor!

It's not just the dog who benefits from this co-sleeping arrangement, as pets help people rest better too, with human companions similarly getting something out of the experience, including reduced stress and/or anxiety while strengthening the human-animal bond. Some people also like it because they feel less lonely and more protected. Really, it's a win-win for everyone!
