Maine Coon Kitten Gets Pushed Into The 'Pool' By Brother Just Like A Typical Sibling
We've all seen it happen: someone gets pushed into the pool by a callous cousin or friend who doesn't understand personal space or boundaries. Well, apparently, that same type of antagonism happens in the animal kingdom, with this pair of sibling kittens on TikTok showing off just how early in life roughhousing starts.
@diamondicoons the way he played it off so casually 🤣
Titled "POV: your brother pushes you into the pool," the quick clip shows two young Maine coon cats having a moment, where one follows the other, pawing and nipping at its sibling's back until the orange kitty kerplunks into a bowl of water. Of course, once there, the orange cat tries to act casual until its caretaker helps it out of the bowl.
"Siblings be siblings 🤷♀️," said one person in the comments, as another pointed out "the way he just softly laid in it lol 😂" as he flopped down into the bowl. Meanwhile, several viewers marveled at the way the cat seemingly came out dry, referring to the orange one as waterproof, which it indeed appears to be. Literally nothing to see here, folks!
Distinguishing traits of Maine coon cats
First and foremost, Maine coon cats are known for their massive size and weight, typically reaching 40 inches in length (including tail) and weighing up to and even over 20 pounds, when the average housecat usually weighs about 10. In fact, the world record for the longest domestic cat ever belongs to a Maine coon. Despite their imposing size, they are known to be the gentle giants of the cat kingdom, usually proving to be so incredibly loyal and affectionate that they're often compared to dogs.
Beyond that, Maine coons have unique long-haired fur, sporting a heavy, water-resistant double coat that makes them look extra fluffy, distinct tufted ears and paws, and a big plumed tail. Because of their naturally sturdy and weather-proof design, they are one of the only types of cats that don't hate water, and may even play in it, which might explain why the water-soaked kitten in the TikTok video seemed largely unfazed by the event.
Due to all the natural floof a Maine coon harbors, extra care needs to be taken to maintain their coats, and close attention needs to be paid to their weight, as they're already large enough without packing on extra, unnecessary pounds. Otherwise, they're just known as a natural marvel of the cat world!
