Sweet Goldendoodle Won't Go To Bed Unless Mom Carries Him Like A Real-Life Toddler

Every dog has its own nightly routine. Some need their own personal pillow, while others have heartwarming habits involving toys, usually managing the whole affair on their own. However, for Knox, the adorably clingy goldendoodle on TikTok, being carried to bed like a toddler is the only way he'll settle down. You can't help but laugh as you watch this dog mom's nightly struggle as she tries to pick up a full-grown doodle who doesn't want to go to bed!

"You think your kid is fussy? Try taking a goldendoodle to bed," she says, noting that her dog feels like he weighs 800 pounds when she tries to pick him up. "Why are you so heavy?" she asks as she struggles to carry his weight before showing him draped across all the pillows in bed at the end.

"Glad mine isn't the only one that does this!" one person came to say in the comments, while another admitted they use an old-fashioned method: "A bedtime treat gets mine up and moving every night and he gets it once he is upstairs and in his bed." Of course, we all know it's way more fun to watch someone do it the adorably complicated way!

Why people treat pets like children

If you've ever called your pet your "fur baby," you're definitely not alone. Household pets rely on us for just about everything, and that caregiving can feel surprisingly similar to raising a child. Spending time with pets even triggers the release of oxytocin, the same feel-good hormone that helps parents bond with babies, so it's no wonder humans feel deep love for their four-legged friends, too.

For many people, dogs and cats offer unconditional love. They aren't judgmental, they don't hold grudges, and they're always there for you when you walk through the door. Add in their adorable looks and irresistible personalities, and it's no wonder our brains switch into nurturing mode. The feeling is often mutual, as pets form strong attachments to their humans and look to them for comfort, safety, and affection.

But while showering your dog or cat with love and attention is perfectly acceptable, it's important to remember they're still animals. So, setting appropriate boundaries, giving them space, and allowing them to express natural behaviors will keep them happy, confident, and loving companions for years to come. Then again, your dog may turn you into their personal pillow, regardless.
