Border Collie Chooses Chaos Over Listening To Dad's Lecture

Dogs love toys. But how they choose to use those toys depends on the pup. Some love to gently carry them around for emotional support, while others seemingly tear them to shreds the moment they get them — with this border collie from TikTok falling into the latter category. In fact, the pup takes things to the next level when she chooses physical chaos over listening to her pet parent question how and why she already destroyed a brand-new stuffy.

Apparently, the rescued border collie named Mal just got a stuffed alligator the day before and has already ripped some stuffing out of it, to the dismay of her dog dad. When he tries to talk to her about the situation, her response is to wildly roll around and ignore him. "Hey, I'm trying to talk to you," he says as she's flailing. "I need you to explain why you destroy everything." But guess what, all he got were blank stares and adorable antics.

"This is how I'm getting out of the next conversation I don't wanna be having," one person came to the comments to say, with another piggybacking, "No talk just vibes." But really, how can you be mad when they're this cute?

Why do dogs tear up stuffed animals?

Ever bought your dog a brand-new stuffed toy only to find the filling scattered across the floor hours later? The good news is that this behavior is completely normal. For many dogs, shredding toys isn't bad behavior; it's instinct. The squeaker inside can mimic prey, and the zealous pouncing, shaking, and ripping dogs do are all natural impulses rooted in ancestral hunting.

Boredom can also play a role in how often a pup destroys toys. If our furry companions aren't getting enough physical or mental exercise, they'll often create their own entertainment — and tearing apart a stuffy is engaging, rewarding, and gives them an outlet for all their energy. Of course, there's usually a big mess left behind.

To reduce that mess, try stuffing-free toys, durable, super tough toys, or interactive doggy puzzles that challenge pets' brains without covering your floor in fluff. Pair that with regular exercise and enrichment, and your dog will hopefully let their stuffed toys live to see another day.
