Ginger Cat Demanding Her Mom Stop Working And Snuggle Immediately Is So Relatable
Sometimes, a cat needs snuggles and just can't wait. That's certainly the case with a ginger cat aptly named Ginger. In a sweet video captioned "If there's one thing Ginger takes seriously, it's snuggle time" — which has been viewed more than 971,000 times on TikTok and racked up over 248,000 likes — Ginger demands that her mom stop working and start cuddling. Her mom tries to bargain with the demanding kitty, asking for a bit more time to work, but the ginger cat is insistent. Mom finally succumbs to Ginger's pleading meows and lies down on the bed, much to the cat's obvious delight.

Viewers agreed they would also be powerless to resist Ginger's squeaky demands. "Queen floof has spoken, drop everything else. This is more important," wrote one, while another commented, "I don't know how you get anything done with her. One of those sweet meows and I'd do whatever she wanted 🥰." One person shared, "I sincerely hope this is what my coworkers are doing when they don't answer my teams messages lol." After all, as a netizen pointed out, "It's snuggle o'clock somewhere."
Why do cats meow at us humans?
"My favorite part of coming home from work is my cat immediately yelling at me when I come in the door and not stopping until he gets his snuggles 🥹🤍," one person commented on the TikTok video. That particular cat, like Ginger, has clearly learned that meowing to a human will usually produce a result, whether that means snuggles, food, playtime, or a door being opened. It's rare for cats to meow to other cats past kittenhood, but most house cats learn to communicate with their humans using meows, purrs, chirps, growls, yowls, and other sounds — even though a 2020 study in Animals showed that humans are notoriously bad at interpreting feline vocalizations.
One netizen offered specific praise for Ginger's courteous little meows in the video, writing, "I love how polite she is! My cat just comes and sits on my book/laptop/whatever with his butt in my face. 😂"
