You know those people who continually get carded well into adulthood because they never seem to age? Am I missing something? Seriously

"Am I missing something?" reads the caption, as the TikTok video recounts a real conversation the content creator had with a stranger while out on a walk in New York City with her adorable dog named Lucy. "Does it grow?" the person asked, to which the eventual wry reply was, "Yes, she's already 4."

Meanwhile, it's not really hard to understand why the random sidewalk commenter was confused, as the pint-sized, baby-faced Alaskan klee kai is basically a miniature Siberian husky. "She is the cutest," said one observer in the comments of the TikTok clip, leaving one thing abundantly clear: forget fetching sticks, Lucy collects double takes!

About the Alaskan klee kai

The Alaskan klee kai is a miniature version of a Siberian husky that was purposefully bred in America's 49th state during the 1970s to capture the husky's wolf-like good looks in a much smaller package. In fact, the term "klee kai" means "little dog" in an Indigenous language native to Alaska.

Aside from being known for their petite size and strikingly fluffy face masks, klee kais are also famously chatty. But instead of barking, they're more likely to let out chirps, howls, and dramatic whines to express themselves. They also have a thick double coat that sheds year-round, with two major coat-blowing seasons that keep their owners' vacuum cleaners busy.

Despite their small stature, these pups usually have husky-size energy that requires plenty of daily walks and mental exercises to stay happy and healthy. They also have a mischievous side and are known for being quick, clever escape artists, so secure leashes and fenced-in yards are a must. In a nutshell, a klee kai is small enough to scoop up, spirited enough to keep you on your toes, and anything but ordinary.
