In the TikTok video, the pug named Jewels, who could seemingly fit in the palm of your hand, is seen enthusiastically lapping up her very first Starbucks secret menu "puppuccino," which looks ginormous against her petite frame. "She loves it!" squeals and giggles her owner, as the comments section lit up with statements like, "a pup that can fit in the cup 🥰😂." Indeed, Jewels has got a long way to the bottom of that cup, but she's happily accepting the challenge!
How tiny can pugs be?
Despite what you might see on social media, when it comes to pugs, there's no officially recognized teacup, mini, or pocket-size pug. Major kennel clubs only recognize the standard pug, so pugs with those labels are often just naturally small dogs, mixed breeds, or the result of questionable breeding practices.
With their wrinkly faces and potato-esque bodies, pugs fall into the small dog breed category to begin with. Most adult pugs weigh between 14 and 18 pounds, though it's not unusual for some to stay on the petite side at around 11 to 13 pounds. Meanwhile, a 10-pound pug might just have been the runt of the litter.
