Tiny Chihuahua Snuggling Up In Dad's Jacket Will Turn Your Frown Upside Down
Chihuahuas have built-in eternal cuteness because of their small size, and sometimes they take things to the next level of adorableness with the added bonus of their big personalities. Just look at this tiny Chihuahua named Frankie, who likes to snuggle up in his dad's jacket, especially when they're cruising down the street. There's no way you won't smile when you see this TikTok video!
@frankiebabythechi Frankie and Bear Bear say happy Monday! #chihuahua #puppy #jacketnap #cute #fyp
Captioned, "Starting Monday with truck rides w dad," the clip shows one dog on the burly dad's lap looking out the window as Frankie the Chihuahua curls up and disappears inside dad's jacket while he's driving. The duo calls the adorable act a "jacket nap," which is featured on their social media account multiple times.
"Cuddle bug 🐛," one person ran to the comments to say, as another noted, "Imagine being that cozy." For sure, we wish we had a place like that to curl up in when we get chilly!
Do Chihuahuas get colder than other dogs?
Chihuahuas may feel the cold more quickly than many medium- and large-breed dogs, and their body size has a lot to do with it. Because they're so small, they can lose body heat relatively quickly, especially when temperatures drop. Short-haired Chihuahuas have even less natural insulation, while long-haired varieties have a little more protection from the chill.
That doesn't mean every identifiable Chihuahua will react to the cold in exactly the same way, as age, health, weight, and activity level can all make a difference, among other factors. Still, their petite size and relatively lean build mean many Chihuahuas often look for extra help staying cozy. Signs they are cold include shivering, curling up into a tight ball, and seeking out a warm spot when the temperature falls.
To help combat their natural inclination to be chilly, you can provide them with a cozy bed or blanket or even a properly fitted sweater or some other cold-weather clothing. When it's cold outside, keeping walks shorter and watching their body language is important. If your Chihuahua starts shivering, refusing to walk, or seems uncomfortable, it's time to head inside and warm up — or maybe they can just hitch a ride in your jacket!
