In the TikTok video, the content creator shares that in an effort to reunite Milkshake with some of her puppies they knew she had, they gave the pup a dog DNA test — and sure enough, they found a match! A daughter named Sage lived 1,400 miles away, so the family decided to make the trek to reunite the two. In the clip, we get to see them excitedly greet each other and play, ending with the statement, "This is only the beginning."

"The sweetest story ever💗," stated one person in the comments, as one of many said, "I'm crying like a baby🙏🥺." In the video, the family vowed they would visit Milkshake's daughter again soon. Indeed, in follow-up posts, they went back, including staying in the area for an extended period of time. We hope the pups had the best time!

More about the mother-daughter doggy duo

According to Milkshake's family TikTok, make.life.happen, the sweet, deaf dog was dumped on the street along with a litter of puppies, who are all believed to have been adopted out while Milkshake herself waited three years in a shelter for a home. After settling in with her new family, they decided to search for those puppies by doing a doggy DNA test, which matched her with Sage 1,400 miles away in Florida.

At first, the two families connected over the DNA site, with Sage's pet parents mailing a doggy blanket with her scent on it to Mom Milkshake. Then, eventually, Milkshake's family made the 1,400-mile journey for a visit, where the two dogs seemed to get along quite well. After that, they made the trip at least two more times, according to their TikTok account, including a month-long stay in the summer of 2026.

Part of Milkshake's story is that her family continues to search for other long-lost pups of hers to reunite with. Whether that happens or not, we're just happy she finally found a loving home!
