Doodle Siblings Have Adorable 'First Look' Moment With New Human Baby Sister
If you had a newborn you wanted to introduce to your beloved pets, how would you do it? Well, if you need inspiration, take it from these adorable doodle dog siblings, Bagel and Lox, who get acquainted with their new human baby sister on TikTok, in what one commenter called a "first look" moment.
@samispalter bagel & lox have a lil sis !!!!
In the clip from April 2026, the two well-behaved doodles face the camera before turning around to see their new sibling being carried in a car seat. As soon as she's placed on the ground, the two pups hover over her and lick her head, as if to say, "Welcome!" Then, of course, they pose for a sweet family photo of the dogs hanging out with their new best friend.
"Lox and Bagel are going to be the best big siblings ever 🤍🤍🤍," said one person in the comments, as another noted the pups were "so gentle 🥰." Looks like Bagel and Lox have already mastered the art of making their newest, tiniest family member feel right at home!
Tips for introducing dogs to babies
Introducing a family dog to a new baby is a big adjustment for everyone, but a little preparation can help make the transition smoother. Before the baby arrives, get your pup used to changes in household routines and unfamiliar sounds.
It might help to play recordings of baby cries at a low volume while offering treats, and let your dog explore items like strollers and cribs under supervision. You can also bring home a baby blanket from the hospital so your furry friend can investigate the new scent before the new arrival comes through the front door. When it's time for the first meeting, keep things relaxed and controlled. Give your dog a chance to burn off excitement by greeting them separately before bringing the baby into the room. Then, have your dog on a leash or behind a gate while the baby is held securely, letting your pooch approach voluntarily. Never force contact, and always reward calm behavior with praise and treats.
Once your little one is home, keep building positive associations by including your dog in everyday activities, continue giving them attention, maintain familiar routines, and provide a quiet retreat when they need space. Most importantly, never leave a dog alone with a baby, even for a moment. Soon, hopefully, they will be fast friends and be totally adorable together!
