Experience

Jasper joined Cuteness in November 2025 with more than 12 years of professional journalism, publishing, and copywriting experience. Since 2012, they have written on a wide range of topics, including pop culture, film/TV, health and wellness, LGBT news, entertainment, breaking news, education and accessibility, and of course, pet news. Jasper got their start as assistant editor at Time Out New York in the "Things to Do" section. Since then, they've worked as a freelance writer and author for Heinemann Publishing, a copywriter for Sealed and Songtradr, and managing editor for a local magazine. They are also a teaching artist, offering their writing expertise to teens and adults locally and nationally, with organizations including Grubstreet and Narratively. Outside of copywriting and journalism, Jasper loves to write for fun. They have a YA fantasy novel called "Juniper Leaves," the chapbook "A Flamboyance," and most recently, the Richard Wright Literary Award-winning memoir, "Pansy."

Education

Jaz has a bachelor's degree in cinema and media studies from Vanderbilt University.
