Jacquelyn Lewis is Licensed Veterinary Technician in the internal medicine department at a busy specialty/emergency animal hospital, and co-founder of Sound Home Animal Sanctuary, a micro-sanctuary and rescue for small mammals. Aside from her animal endeavors, Jacquelyn is a passionate writer and editor. Her past work has appeared in New York Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, and Forbes Traveler. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon, and a master’s in Publishing from New York University. She also returned to school to obtain her Veterinary Technology degree from LaGuardia Community College. Jacquelyn is Fear Free certified in addition to being a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. She has a special interest in cat rescue, feline neonatal care, TNR, and feline behavior. She loves to incorporate her veterinary knowledge into her writing. Jacquelyn lives on Long Island with her husband, their dog, four cats, and three guinea pigs.
