Laurel-Ann Dooley is an award-winning freelance journalist, author, and content creator with a strong background in animal welfare. She is co-founder of a successful advocacy campaign to build a new county animal shelter in Atlanta, on the steering committee of the nonprofit organization, Paws Between Homes, and an active foster and volunteer with several rescues and shelters. Additionally, she has trained with Fear Free Pets and Dogs Playing For Life and participates in the international collaboration, Human Animal Support Services (HASS). As a writing professional, Laurel-Ann is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Authors Guild, and the Atlanta Press Club. On the home front, she is at the service of her resident cats and a rotating cast of foster cats and dogs.
