Sweet Golden Retriever 'Offended' After Not Getting Any Pets From Strangers
Who can resist the face of an adorable golden retriever (especially puppies!)? Apparently, more people than you'd expect, as wistfully experienced by this sweet goldie named Skye, who went looking for pets at a pub and wound up with none. Zero. Zilch! We're not sure how that's even possible, because we'd pet this lovable TikTok pup in a second, especially with that hopeful expression she's got going on here. Could you pass her up?
@mackandskye she was offended at the end
The whole video consists of the sun-colored Skye optimistically standing on a patio bench staring expectantly inside the open-doored restaurant/bar, hoping for someone to "walk by and pet her," according to her owner's caption. No one comes, except for a distracted woman looking at her phone, who walks right by, leaving Skye "offended" at the end.
The comments section universally swoops in to help try to cheer up the "cutie pie" pup from afar, with one person noting, "This broke my heart because she looked so sad when the lady walked past💔💔," while another incredulously asked, "How could ANYONE resist the floof of a beautiful golden?" Most people were in the same mindset, dropping comments like "I wouldn't be able to resist" and "I would stop and pet her in a heart beat 💯❤." We sure hope this adorable doggy gets all the attention she wants next time around!
Signs your dog is craving attention
Dogs are pretty straightforward when they want attention, a la sweet Skye in the TikTok video. Cuddling up, gentle staring, and/or a wagging tail all signal that a friendly canine is trying to get your attention — and hopefully some pets.
At home or in the company of people they feel comfortable with, dogs may also give nose nudges or paw taps to emphasize their needs. Following you around and doing any or all of these things together should also be an obvious sign to give your pup the recognition he or she deserves!
When it comes to barking, whining, or being unusually destructive, that may be an indication that your pet is feeling like their companionship needs are being neglected. Just remember, a few simple pats or a quick game of fetch can mean the world to the furry friends in your life, as you are their main caregiver and best buddy. Any good pet parent will surely give their doting doggy as much attention as they need whenever they can in order to let their dog know they love them. Who can really resist?
