Fussy Mini Dachshund's Adorable Tantrum Sounds Like A NASCAR Engine
Ah, dogs — they're cute, they're funny, and they certainly let their feelings be known. Of course, for this fussy mini dachshund, that means that throwing a little tantrum will get you compared to a NASCAR engine when you're caught on camera whining and growling. You won't believe your ears!
"Gear shifter" is what the human companion of this mini dapple dachshund from Texas nicknamed Willow the doxie, because she sounds like a race car engine revving up and making the rounds. We're not sure what got her gears in a grind, but we're glad it was documented on Instagram!
"Ok Vin Diesel 😂," was quickly dropped in the comments section, referring to the actor who stars in the "Fast & Furious" film franchise. Meanwhile, another person joked, "Easy on that clutch😭." Hey now, if there were a race to the finish line for cuteness, this four-legged sports car would surely come in first!
How many different sounds can a dog make?
Dogs can seemingly make endless noises and sounds, with some dogs vocalizing more than others (even the only dog breed in the world that doesn't bark isn't totally silent). In reality, all those sounds fall into about eight different categories, from barking and whining to growling and grunting.
Of course, the main vocalization for dogs is barking, which can sound big and booming coming from a dog like a German shepherd or sharp and yippy coming from a Chihuahua. While we're not sure what kind of emotion made Willow the mini dachshund sound like a race car, our best guess is that she was playful growling or even purring. Yup, dogs are known to purr, similar to cats, when they are happy, though they don't do it nearly as often as their feline counterparts. If you want to see more dog vocalizations, this German shepherd showing off two completely different barks and this golden retriever howling to the "Law & Order" theme song are some adorable examples.
Once you get to know your pup well, you'll surely be able to tell the difference between their guard dog bark, their playful howls, and their bedtime sighs of contentment. Someday, you might even hear your pup purr like a car engine. It's just all in a day's work when it comes to doggy life!
