Tabby Kitten Nibbles On German Shepherd's Ears Like They're A Tasty Treat
Sometimes, cats do wild things, either showing they have no fear or no common sense. However, in this video we stumbled upon of a determined kitty nibbling on a German shepherd's ear, it's clear that some cats are just oblivious BFFs who've thankfully got the most unbothered big dog sibling on the planet.
@evieandoaky He in fact will bite you... and nibble a little bit #germanshepherd #dogandcat #kittensoftiktok #cuteanimals #funnyanimals
In the clip, the gray-and-black tabby cat is lying down next to the sleepy German shepherd, licking, nibbling, and straight-up biting one of the dog's ears — all while the doggy doesn't even flinch. However, the pup does kind of have a look on its face like, "Really, you're just going to sit there and record this?"
As for why the kitty may want to do this, one commenter noted, "It taste[s] like candy!" Whatever the reason, the dog's patience is what really steals the show here, with the pup seeming less annoyed and more resigned to its fate. Needless to say, it's hard to look away!
Why people don't expect dogs and cats to be friends
People love to joke that cats and dogs are natural enemies, but the truth is a little more complicated than that. The two species aren't always destined to dislike each other, but they do come from very polar-opposite worlds, which is probably one reason humans are so fascinated by this particular realm of interspecies friendship.
Cats are often seen as independent and selective about who they spend time with, while dogs have a reputation for wanting to be everyone's best friend. However, canines also have a natural instinct to chase and hunt smaller critters, so a frightened cat running away from a big dog can quickly trigger a nerve-wracking pursuit. Still, plenty of cats and dogs break the natural order of rules and prove the stereotypes wrong by becoming fast friends, especially when proper training, socialization, and supervision are involved.
Seeing two animals with such different traits form a close bond feels unexpected, and it's also pretty adorable. This is most likely why images of cats grooming dogs, napping beside them, or pouncing on them often capture a lot of attention on social media. While some kitties and pups never become friends, others form surprisingly strong bonds — and when it happens, it's a reminder that friendship can bloom between the most unlikely of pairs.
