We're Not Kidding: Goat Yoga Is A Thing & We Couldn't Be Happier
You know when you're doing yoga, but you feel there's something missing, and you realize that something is goats? It's a tale that has plagued mankind since the very beginning. But it is a tale that will be told no more, because deep in the mountains of Oregon (where else?), there exists Goat Yoga.
Goat Yoga is exactly what it sounds like: a retreat where you do yoga surrounded by cute goats. Their website describes Goat Yoga as "the breathtaking, smile-inducing fitness trend sweeping the nation since 2016."
These goats are therapy animals, which means they are trained to "provide affection and comfort to people who need it." This can include individuals with depression, PTSD, or a history of trauma.
However, you don't need a diagnosis to hang out with the goats. Anyone who wants to reduce their stress/ hang out with goats all day is welcome.
Goat Yoga is the brainchild of Lainey Morse. Morse works full-time on Goat Yoga as well as her other business, Your Daily Goat, which, according to their website, "offers a wide array of everything goat."
The Goat Yoga farm is home to dozens of goats, all of whom have excellent names, like Ansel, Romeo and Fabio, and Annie Goatley (my personal favorite).
All the goats were chosen for Goat Yoga because of their friendly disposition and love of human affection.
Past Goat Yoga participants claim they found the practice very therapeutic.
