This Life-Saving Service Dog Is Graduating Because, Frankly, He Deserves It

By Briana Hansen

This year's Rose Bud High School graduation in Arkansas officially went to the dogs. Well, at least a diploma was shared by one dog at the school ceremony. Tyler McCready and his service dog Sinatra walked the stage together at the high school senior's graduation.

They did so not only because Sinatra never leaves his side, but also because his loyal pup has been to every class with McCready since 10th grade. So, really, Sinatra earned it.

McCready wanted to make sure his best fur friend looked spiffy on their big day. He had him fitted with a matching graduation outfit and an adorably academic cap.

After he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2012, McCready's family set up a Go Fund Me to help pay for a service dog. They met the needed donations and the handsome Sinatra joined the family.

Sinatra is trained to monitor McCready's blood sugar levels. He alerts him if they're dropping rapidly, and often does so even before his medical equipment picks up on it.

The two are inseparable. And when the graduate attends Full Sail University this fall, as he hopes to do, Sinatra will remain right by his side.
